Charity Camel Treks

Using our own two feet and camels to raise money for non-profit organisations close to heart.

During the Camels for Cuddles Charity Camel Trek we raised awareness of infant, Neo-natal, fetal & miscarriage deaths the things we don’t like to talk about, but happens everyday. We raised $8,000 to fund a community Cuddle Cots for Regional Gippsland towns (servicing East Gippsland & Beyond).

Tara Lea walked (not rode) with her camels in memory of infant son Noah Lea Osborne passed on at 4 days old December 2015 & brother Corey Briede, passed on at 32 years May 2016.

The ‘hand picked’ CCT team under took a journey like none other – all in the name of charity, in this instance to help END child sex slavery by raising $15,369 to donate to Empower International ($5,369 than our original goal), which in turn we gave (admission free) to International Justice Mission, who are a  human rights agency that brings rescue to victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression.

Our 6 dedicated trekkers trekked to an array of different locations each day, walking 13-18km/day for Empower International, raising funds to help empower – rescue, educate, safe house, teach necessary life skills to young girls who are sold to slavery.

Supporting Micro Camel Dairy in India

We know we can’t change the world on our own, so we invite our wider camel community to join us in philanthropic adventures abroad to help support camel business that will help local economies.

We believe travel should be sustainable and that when we leave the country we leave a gift that keeps on giving.

We’ve donated 6 camels and our training skills to a rural Indian village to help their dream come true of feeding their communities with camel milk and using camel wool to make their own products to sustain their economy.

In turn, utilising camels in India , helps sustain the camel’s rapidly decreasing population due to modernisation. There’s an underlying fear that camel’s will become obsolete in India in the future. So keeping the demand for camels present is of upmost importance to the Indian culture and the Indian camel and hence small business will help.

We continue to support them and returning to India.

Heartfelt

Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation of professional photographers from all over Australia and New Zealand dedicated to giving the gift of photographic memories to families that have experienced stillbirths, premature births or have children with serious and terminal illnesses.

Heartfelt is close to our hearts as they captured the few days we had with our son, Noah, and we treasure our pictures as it’s the only ones we will ever have. Heartfelt is dedicated to providing this gift to families in a caring, compassionate manner and we pay it forward by helping continue their wonderful service to bereaved families.

Camel Course Scholarships

Australian Camels camel trek camel trekking camel safari

Every year we offer scholarships for our camel courses online & in-person. We see the value in helping others improve on their camel skills. We’ve helped charitable causes start their camel journeys, individuals get on their ‘camel way’ and supported big camel ideas & dreams.

We’ve donated over $15,000 of camel course scholarships to date and we’ll continue to offer these scholarships as long as camel dreams and ideas exist!
